SLSGB Surf/Beach Lifeguard Proficiency Test

Candidates MUST hold a current SLSGB membership prior to booking. SLSGB memberships can be renewed via the SLSGB website or by calling SLSGB direct on 01392 369111
The assessment process should take toughly 4 hours however this is dependant upon the number of bookings.
The SLSGB Beach/Surf Lifeguard award is valid for 2 years after which time all who wish to keep their qualification valid must undergo annual proficiency testing. When attending proficiency testing candidates must be prepared to be assessed on any aspect of the Beach/Surf lifeguard award of which the following aspects are mandatory:
- 400m timed swim in 8 minutes or less for Beach Lifeguard and 7minutes 30 seconds for Surf Lifeguard
- 200m timed run in 40 seconds or less
- Board rescue
- Tube rescue
- Oxygen administration
- CPR on adult, junior and baby
- Unconscious Casualty Management
- Choking Management adult, junior and baby
