Emergency Paediatric First Aid CourseThis qualification is the minimum level of first aid qualification that anyone looking to work in the Early Years setting MUST hold in order to be included in the staff:child ratios as set out by the Department of Education Link here.
It is also suitable for parents, toddler group volunteers, foster parents or anyone who may have to deliver first aid as part of their role in either childcare or domestic environments.

This is a classroom-based instructor lead course. Involving hands-on practical learning. The classroom learning is facilitated by the instructor using PowerPoint presentation, scenario-based learning, open discussions and formative and summative assessment. Each learner will receive a Emergency Paediatrics First Aid Manual which can be used during the course and is theirs to keep post course.
This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and written/oral questioning.
To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 8 hours of learning, with a minimum contact time, excluding breaks of 6 hours. The course is normally run over 1-day
