Level 3 First Aid @ Work (requalification)
Requalification / Refresher CourseThis is a re-qualification course for those that hold a current Level 3 First Aid @ Work qualification which is due to expiry. You will revisit the learning from your previous training, receive updates on current best practises and touch up on your practical skills and knowledge.
- Roles and responsibilities of the first aider within the workplace
- Scene Survey
- Unconscious casualties, including seizures
- Adult, junior and baby CPR
- Choking
- Burns and scalds
- Bleeds and shock
- Minor wounds such as grazes, small cuts and bruises
- Head injuries
- Spinal injuries
- Chest injuries
- Eye injuries
- Dislocations and fractures
- Strains and sprains
- Secondary surveys
- Anaphylaxis
- Heart attack and angina
- Diabetes
- Asthma attack
- Sudden poisoning
- Stroke
This is a classroom-based instructor led course. The classroom learning is facilitated by the instructor using PowerPoint presentation, scenario-based learning and open discussions. Each learner will receive a First Aid Manual which can be used during the course and is theirs to keep post course.
Assessment – There are a series of practical assessments as well as multiple choice questions throughout the course.
This is a 2-day course consisting of 12 hours of contact learning time and is valid for a period of 3 years, with the HSE recommending annual updates throughout the time you hold the qualification.
In the case of group bookings, we can break the hours down into smaller sessions, with all learning hours being covered within a 1month period e.g. 4 x 3hour sessions every Tuesday and Thursday until completion.
