An essential qualification for those looking to work as a beach lifeguard in the UK or further afield.

The following pre-requisites apply to all learners attending this course:

  • Must be 16 years old or over on the first day of the course
  • Must be able to swim 400m in 7 minutes and 30 seconds or less
  • Hold a current SLSGB membership

The SLSGB Surf/Beach Lifeguard course will provide the learner with the knowledge and skills required in order to provide professional patrolling and water services, in surf conditions, with rescue skills and advanced fitness requirements. The course is physically demanding and will include swimming to set times and lifting. The Surf Lifeguard Award is comprised of a variety of units and all must be successfully passed to attain the qualification.

    An excellent course that is worth doing, Incredible instructors and good equipment with a lovely club house.
    Also if you need to commute from Brighton you can get a week rail ticket which is cheap as chips!
